Place of Worship
- Th Gurdwara is called the Gateway to the Guru. It is wherever the Guru Granth Sahib is kept.
- During the early times of the gurus, the worship gatherings were at dharamsalas.
"How to" Guide
- When they come in, they remove their shoes and cover their bare heads.
- Then they wash their feet and hands.
- They are expected to bow to the Guru Granth Sahib.
- Men and women do not sit together.
Dress and Clothing
- They wear the Kakar which are the 5 Ks of ceremonial dress.
- 1. Kachhera - undergarment
- 2. Kaanga - wooden comb
- 3. Kara - bangle
- 4. Kes - uncut hair
- 5. Kirpan - cermonial short sword
- Men hear turbans and women wear scarves.
Food and Drink
- Don't believe in sacrificial killing and will not eat animals killed that way.
- Some will not eat pork some will not eat beef. Some are vegetarian.
- They will eat anything except Halal and Kosher.
